There are mornings that stay with you long after the last plate is cleared and the chairs are stacked away. Our June 2026 Mission Breakfast was one of them.
We opened our doors to the local community for a morning of fellowship, food, and reflection — and the room filled up fast. Long tables were dressed in white linens, centerpieces of bright orange lilies marking each spot, and a buffet line stretched down one side of the hall as our volunteers plated up a full Jamaican breakfast for every guest who walked through the door.

Sharing a taste of home
Food has always been one of the simplest ways to bring people together, and this breakfast was no exception. Guests filled their plates with traditional Jamaican dishes and sat down together — some with family, some meeting new neighbours for the first time — to share a meal the way it’s meant to be shared: unhurried, and in good company.
Looking back at Jamaica
Part of the morning was set aside to share something close to our hearts: our 2025 mission trip to Jamaica. We walked the community through what that trip looked like — the homes we visited, the families we met, and the impact that a small team with a big heart was able to make. Side-by-side photos on the screen told the story better than words could: our team on the ground in Jamaica, and the same care and warmth carried back home into this room.
It was a moving reminder that the work doesn’t stop when the trip ends. It continues here, in gatherings just like this one, where the community gets to see exactly where their support goes.

Care packages with a purpose
We were proud to partner with Diaper Warehouse and several other partner organizations for this event. Together, we put together care packages filled with incontinence care items and other essential health care products — the kind of everyday necessities that are too often overlooked, but make an enormous difference to the person receiving them.
These packages aren’t sitting in storage. They’re going out to families, individuals in need, the elderly, and others in our community who are too often forgotten. Every bag packed that morning represents dignity delivered directly to someone’s door.
A room full of gratitude
Beyond the breakfast and the presentation, this event was simply about people showing up for one another. We watched old friends embrace, new friendships form over a shared table, and volunteers move quietly through the room making sure everyone felt welcomed and cared for.
To everyone who came out, gave generously, or lent a hand behind the scenes — thank you. Mornings like this remind us why this work matters, and they wouldn’t be possible without a community willing to give.
If this is the kind of impact you want to be part of, we’d love to have you at our next event — or you can support our ongoing care package initiative directly. Every contribution, big or small, becomes part of someone else’s story.
